Teacher Comments.
March 5, 2010

Hello!

Be sure to sign up for a conference for either March 18th or the 23rd.  I'm looking forward to talking with you about your child.

Sight word sentences will again be due next week.  The words and writing paper will come home on Monday. Please go over these with your child to check spelling, punctuation, and handwriting.

The story for next week is Shrinking Mouse by Pat Hutchins.  We will be learning the long e sound spelled ie or ea. We will also review making predictions, and the -ing ending.

We will draw a picture to show how distance makes things look smaller as part of the story comprehension.

In Math we will be learning about comparing numbers-greater and less than- using the symbols >,<.  We will use a hundreds chart to skip count by 2s, 5s, and 10s and use ordinal numbers.

Keep your child practicing the addition and subtraction facts.

The tooth chart should be returned by Monday if your child has colored in all of the teeth.    Have your child return it when finished for a Sparkling Smile certificate and a sabre dollar.

Think Spring!

Sincerely,
Sandy Kehrwald
