Ms. Hritz's Weekly Parent Letter

      "CATHOLIC SCHOOLS  DIVIDENDS FOR LIFE"

March 5, 2010

Dear Parent,

The students did an awesome job with the Stations of the Cross.  Thanks for your support at home in having them practice.
On March 2nd students enjoyed reading Dr. Seuss books and writing their own Dr. Seuss story.  They were so creative with their writing, that their next story for their 2nd grade story book will be an imaginative story.

The President reports and drawings were finished this week so the students shared their information with the class.  This year the students used a website to obtain the information from.  Then they copied and pasted it on their saved document.  For the president's portrait Mrs. Crowell helped the students learn the first steps for drawing it.  They did a super job. Now they are hanging in the school hall so you will be able to see them when you come to conferences.

Monday a letter will be coming home titled Formation in Christian Chastity. The program is called, Protecting Children and Youth Initiative and will be taught to all second graders next week. Teachers are required by the Archdioceses to teach all students these lessons, which you can go over at home also. Should your child be sick during this week I will see to it that the lesson is done at another time during a school day.
Students all have a part in a St. Patrick or St. Joseph Play for the week of March 15th. The students will be going to other classrooms and sharing the plays throughout that week.
Next Saturday, March 13, 2010 is the First Communion class in church at 9am. Continue to work with your child in their First Communion book.
Remember to sign up online for your spring conference with me on March 18th or 23rd.  It is a good time to check in and hear about the great work that your child is doing.
The students and I were sorry to hear about Mrs. Ronhovde's mom passing away.  They each made a precious card and wrote on a heart to let her know that we've been thinking, and praying for her during this difficult time.
Have a blessed Third Week of Lent.
    God Bless You!

    Ms. Hritz
