Ms. Hritz's Weekly Parent Letter

November 23, 2011

Dear Parent,

Happy Birthday Andy on Saturday, November 26th.  We look forward to celebrating on Monday.  Andy is also Student of the Week for the next two weeks. Happy Birthday!

The Thanksgiving Plays were a great success.  Everyone performed with enthusiasm, even the audience did their part.  It is always a joy to see the Spirit of God move through the children when they are sharing their gifts.

On Monday I will be sending home a math fact study sheet for your child to practice with.  There will be addition and subtraction timed test your child will be doing in Math class on Thursdays during the month of December.  Please keep the study sheet at home to practice for the week.  The first week will be addition facts up to 12.  Remind your child practice makes timed test a lot easier.  Thanks for your support.

Some more homework for next week is part of Lesson #6 for Reconciliation which will be sent home on Wednesday for you to review with your child.  There are also spelling words to practice listed below.

There are a few things schedule for the second graders in December that will keep them busy.  On Thursday, December 1st the students will be talking about geography facts to the Chilean students. December 3, 2011 they will be receiving the Sacrament of First Reconciliation.  Then on Friday, December 8th they will be singing in the choir loft for the school Mass. Make a note that your child will also be singing in the Christmas Concert on December 15, 2011. Finally, on December 16, 2011 they will be doing the parts for the Mass. Come and enjoy the beautiful gifts they have to share here at our Guardian Angels Community.

It is Thanksgiving and I am giving thanks to you for giving me the opportunity to teach your child. I am thankful that the students are doing an awesome job with their school work, playing nicely outside together, being respectful in the halls and following through with what is asked of them to do in other classes.

Happy Thanksgiving!

God Bless You and your families too!

Ms. Hritz
