Lent: We have been celebrating Stations of the Cross every Friday. Our thanks to the 7th graders and Mrs. Gallus for preparing last week’s stations. 8th grade will be doing living stations the Friday before break, March 26. You are welcome to join us at 3:00. We also went to Reconciliation today.
Tom Epperly Scholarship Fund: Deadline to submit application is Friday, March, 19th.
End of Trimester II is Friday, March 5th. Be sure to get those AR tests taken before the end of the day on Friday and turn in any missing or late work in order to be graded and counted in the trimester. Starting Monday, 6th graders will be starting their trimester of Media, 7th graders will be having Health, and 8th graders will have 2 days of Art and 3 days of Geography each week.
Mark your calendars: Honor Roll Breakfast will be hosted by the MS staff on Wednesday, March 17th at 8:30 a.m. in the gym. Notification of honor roll status will be included in the envelope when report cards are mailed by 3/12/10.
Another calendaring note: 7th graders (and 4th graders) will be going to Feed My Starving Children on April 13th. While this is quite a ways off, we wanted to let you know that we need about 14 parent chaperones to meet the required adult:child ratio. Please let Mrs. Gallus know if you are able to attend this event. We will leave school around 11:30 a.m. and return around 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 13th. More details to follow.
Spring Conferences: Please be sure to sign up with your child’s advisor on the on-line conference scheduler. Please note that you should sign up for March 23 if your child is involved in Prairie Fire Theatre. Thursday, March 18 is a full dress rehearsal. Also note that you may also sign up to speak with any middle school teacher. We will not be having the drop-in times between conferences, so if you want to discuss your child’s progress with other middle school staff, please sign up for those individually in addition to the homeroom teacher.
Yearbook Editors: Two work sessions coming up—Monday, March 8th and Wednesday, March 24th—after school until 4:45 p.m.
Service Club: Tuesday, March 9th—counting money until 4:45 p.m.
Prairie Fire Theatre: The cast is pretty well set for “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”, but we still need 2 more middle school students to step up and be part of the sound, lights, and backstage crew. Please let Mrs. Gallus know if you are interested.
