ar Guardian Angels Faith Formation Parents:
Our summer is quickly coming to an end, and with the end of summer we all begin to look towards the new school year. The Faith Formation Academic year begins Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 6:15pm with an all program family event. This evening is part of our curriculum for grades Sunday School through tenth grade and all families need to be in attendance.
During this evening event you will be receiving a complete calendar. As we continue to make improvements on our growing program we will be including our parent and student session as well as our class participation in Mass. This year we will be adding Adoration to the curriculum, each class will spend a short time at adoration as part of our parish 150th celebration. For those involved, First Communion will be the weekend of April 25 &26, 2009, and Confirmation will be on Thursday, April 16, 2009.
If we have not received your registration forms for the 2008-09 Faith Formation Programs, you will find them enclosed. Please be sure to complete both of the forms for your family as well as ensuring that both you and your child(ren) read and sign the back of the Family Registration Form where the Behavior Policy is printed. We have also implemented new parental responsibility agreement. Please be sure to review this with your child and return it with you other forms. If you have received more than one of each of the forms please return them to the parish office. The completed forms need to be returned by Wednesday, September 3, 2008 with the full payment so that we know how many students to plan for and determine our catechist needs. Registration will be cut off at this point until we can access our volunteer needs and registration will reopen once we have enough volunteers for our program.
We are currently looking for more volunteers in many capacities; please contact me if you are able to help in any way – as a Catechist, a substitute, catechist assistant, a hall monitor, sibling care, or clerical help.
Finally, if you have already committed to sharing your time and talents with the Faith Formation students thank you! Please remember all volunteers in our programs, must have completed both a background check and a Virtus session before our first session. (This includes hall monitors and substitutes.)
